Single Split Systems
A Split System has two components: an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. The indoor unit is the fan unit which is located in the specified room. Both fan speed and temperature can be controlled to quickly deliver the temperature required. If it’s a reverse cycle system (most are). The indoor unit will heat and cool as required. The outdoor unit is the condensing unit, this is the engine room of the system.

Multi Split Systems
A multi split system is very similar to a split system, but it has just one outdoor unit that is connected to multiple indoor units.
